Northwood Lodge is a Victorian coach house in South East Kent, 70 miles from central London. It has been beautifully renovated with painted wooden floors, large windows and French doors and is decorated in a mixture of colonial style and French shabby chic.
The wide variety of colours, textures, finishes, furniture, wall treatments and lighting in the house offer an incredible variety of backdrops and atmosphere for photos. The owner’s eclectic and exceptional collection of antiques, artwork, objet d’art and props, can also be used by prior agreement.
The beautiful, lush gardens are a particular feature of the location. Front and back gardens and a walled garden to the side, offer a great deal of versatility in creating different backgrounds, textures and colour for photo shoots.
The front garden features vegetable and fruit beds surrounded by tall trees. A wooden deck spans the back of the house leading on to a lawn and borders planted in an elegant english country style with a wide variety of attractive trees. The fenced courtyard is painted in a faded Indian pink and has established olives and figs growing.
The house doubles as a bed and breakfast if crew need to stay overnight in the two guest bedrooms. The owner can be on hand in her capacity as an experienced professional stylist if need be. Catering can be provided and is excellent. There is parking on the private drive for five cars or small trucks.
The house is 5 miles from Whitstable and 7 miles from Canterbury with excellent rail links. Driving from London takes about 1.5 hours in good traffic.
